Frequently asked questions

BROW Henna

What is Brow Henna?

Brow Henna is a non-invasive, non-permanent brow service that will transform the look of your brows.  Brow Henna will dye the hair of your brows and stain the skin behind your eyebrows to create a more defined, fuller and darker brow.

What is the difference between Brow Henna & tradition brow tinting?

Traditional brow tinting is only designed to tint the hair and not the skin (if the skin is tinted it only last up to 2 days). Brow Henna will not only dye the hair but leave a stain on the skin for up to 2 weeks giving the brows a fuller look.

Traditional brow tinting will only last up to 4 weeks on the hair.  Brow Henna can last 6-8 weeks on the hair.

*The longevity of both tradition brow tint & brow henna depending on skin type, lifestyle & cleaning regime

What is a patch test & why is it done?

A patch test is done before your first Brow Henna appointment. You will come in at least 24 hours before your first appointment have a small amount of product applied to your skin. (Please note this will leave a little stain on the skin for a couple days).

A patch test is always recommended to any new clients coming to Long Lash Beauty. If you wish to have a patch test done please book a consultation appointment.

(A patch test does not guarantee an allergic reaction will not occur in future appointments)

How often can I have Brow Henna applied?

We recommend any time after 5 weeks have past. This ensures your brows do not become to dark over time.

How far in advance should I get Brow Henna done before an event?

We always suggest getting Brow Henna done at least 24 hours in advance of any event. The more time the better, 24 hours is just the minim to ensure enough time is given to keep them dry before showering or applying makeup.

If you’re also having your brows shaped it give more than enough time for any redness to go away.

Can I get Brow Henna for vacation?

Yes but please keep in mind your Brow Henna needs at least 24 hours before being exposed to water. Make sure you book your appointment in advance.

Exposure to swimming & sweating in the sun may cause the Brow Henna to fade faster than normal.

I’ve had my eyebrows microbladed can I still get Brow Henna?

Yes as long as your microblading is fully healed.

I’ve had my eyebrows tinted can I still get Brow Henna?

Yes but you need to wait about 4 weeks after your last brow tint was done,  as we don’t want the Brow Henna to react with the chemicals from the brow tint.

What is Brow Shaping?

Brow shaping removes any unwanted hair from the brow area and helps to create a crisp brow shape.

What should I expect during the service?

Your brow artist may also us tweezers to remove any unwanted hair that can not be removed with wax. A final brow trim will be done to complete your new brow shape.

Does it hurt?

Yes & no, this all depends on your pain tolerance & if you have ever had your brows waxed before. Most people find the first time is the worse & as they continue to have their brows waxed the less uncomfortable it becomes.

It all depends on your brow growth cycle.  Ever 3-4 weeks or at each of your Brow Henna appointments is usually recommended.

If your trying to grow back over tweezed/ waxed brows we suggest  once a month until the desired amount of hair grows back.
